Meet Our Team Member: Susannah

A Few of My Favorite Things:
At the end of the day, you can often find me curled up with a cup of tea and a fantasy novel. I love diving into epic fantasy series and am currently working my way through Brandon Sanderson’s books—feel free to bring me your recommendations!

During the warmer months, I spend my free time gardening. At home, I grow vegetables to share with family and friends, and at the office, I tend a wildflower garden that also serves as our outdoor therapy space. If you’re interested in outdoor therapy, let us know—I’d love to work with you in that environment!

My husband and I enjoy traveling and exploring new hiking trails. One of my favorite adventures was a four-day backpacking trip along the west coast of Ireland.

For clients struggling with burnout, I often recommend the book Burnout: The Secret to Unlocking the Stress Cycle by Emily Nagoski and Amelia Nagoski—it’s an excellent resource for breaking free from the stress cycle.

A Fun or Unexpected Fact About Me:
I’m a huge fan of the Renaissance Faire and love dressing up as a fairy or princess for the day. It’s one of my favorite ways to care for my younger self, who loved imaginative play. Engaging with that playful, creative energy helps me stay connected to the carefree spirit so many of us lose as adults. I encourage my clients to find their own ways of embracing creativity and joy.

A Little More About Me:
I’m constantly inspired by my clients and the resilience they demonstrate. This work is a privilege, and I’m always learning from the people I have the honor to work with. I’d love the opportunity to meet you and explore whether we’d be a good fit for your therapeutic journey.

How Long I’ve Been Practicing:
I have been a social worker since 2019 and have worked as an outpatient therapist for 1.5 years.

My Areas of Expertise:
I specialize in supporting teens and young adults as they navigate trauma, explore their identities, and rediscover parts of themselves that may have been overshadowed by life’s challenges. I am particularly passionate about working with individuals exploring their sexuality, gender, religion, and neurodiversity. Helping clients uncover their true selves and reprocess their trauma is the most rewarding part of my work.

Why I Chose This Area:
I love working with people in my age range because we often share similar life transitions and challenges, making it easier to relate and connect. My own experiences in therapy taught me how transformative it can be to have a therapist who walks alongside you with compassion and care as you unpack and reprocess traumatic memories. I strive to be that safe, steady presence for my clients.

What I Want Clients to Know About Me:
It’s truly the greatest honor to walk alongside someone as they heal from their trauma. I often feel like the luckiest person in the world witnessing people find clarity, peace, and strength from their past. My goal is to create a space—both physically and emotionally—that feels safe and comfortable, allowing you to fully engage in your healing journey.

As a social worker, I’m passionate about supporting individuals who are overlooked or underserved by our social, political, and economic systems. I approach therapy from an anti-racist, feminist, and queer-affirming perspective, tailoring my person-centered approach to meet your unique needs and goals.
